Facebook app doesn't update

Hi, the problem that i have is that every time i tried to update the facebook app throuh the playstore it would download normally, but at the momento of updating the app it would just get stuck in the "updating.." process for up to 20 minutes. And after that the updating notification would dissapear and so would the facebook shortcut from my homescreen and app drawer, i can make it appear again by restarting my phone, but the app would still be the older version.

I'm running android 5.1 gpe
