Enable Miracast to work with Nexus 6P by editing build.prop

Hi. It looks like the option to cast the screen to LCD/LED TV using Miracast is disabled by Google as they want to enforce the use of Chromecast device. However, it looks like it can be re-enabled adding this entry in /system/build.prop

Has anyone tried out this option ? My device is not rooted. Is there anyway I can modify build.prop without rooting my device ?
