I have a phone with Snapdragon 810, which brags "supports DSP" and other high quality audio options (supposedly), the LeTV x900 if its necessary to know (which gsminsider reports has LeTV's ESS exclusive custom DAC and DCDC + LDO two power supply design, if it matters). So the question is:
Is it possible to output true 5.1 or 7.1 sound (DTS, DTS-HD, Atmos, etc) from the phone to a real receiver (Yamaha for example)? I've tried several different version of MHL usb to hdmi cables and they were all only recognized as a stereo source. I'm pretty sure I can't use the 3.5mm jack because it would also only use 2 channels, and bluetooth wold compress the audio. Is there any true options for someone who wants to listen to 3d sound sources (like a bluray mkv put on the phone) on a real home theater receiver? Any feedback would be appreciated.
