Locked phone stuck in boot loop, please help

Hi there,

I have a stock, unrooted and locked HTC One M7 that is stuck in a restart loop. Today my battery drained to flat and phone died, charged it as usual and tried turning on. It wouldn't turn on but just restarted itself as soon as it got to the white HTC One screen. It did this over and over until it ran out of battery.

I am able to start the bootloader and enter recovery mode, but when I try to reboot the system from recovery mode, it goes into the same bootloop. Other than that, the phone is charging and discharging normally when switched off. Running KitKat, never updated to Lollipop.

I've stayed up all night reading what feels like every single bootloop thread but none were exactly identical to mine. Can anyone help me to figure out if there is a fix for this? I am trying to avoid a factory reset as I really want to transfer out the files on my phone.

From what I've read, prospects seem bleak :( but any help would be really appreciated. As much grief as this phone has given me over the years, we've been through a lot together and I love it.

Thank you so much for your time and help.
Stella
