Kingroot is one of those foreign one click root things, but it does have a thread here on XDA. I heard of it because it can root S4's on Lollipop without having to flash things in download mode. It's an option if you're desperate for root and don't care about flash counters, q-fuses, q-fuses, warranty bits, whatever. I don't know if there's any risk of bricking, but if it does work that would be nice to know, and once rooted we can replace Kinguser with any number of tutorials.
If this works, then it can certainly open up expiration for more exploits/workarounds/unlocks so it would be nice. As always, nothing is guaranteed and I know the pain of a locked bootloader life (my phone took an OTA while I was on an exploited firmware and I've been locked to Touchwiz ever since :eek: ) but hopefully we can at least get the spark going.
