Please help returning HTC One M8 to Stock

Well, I'm trying to sell my sons rooted HTC One M8 phone and before I do, I'd like to return it to stock....imagine that.. :silly:

I followed this guide to get the Android Revolution ROM loaded - http://ift.tt/1TVPx4h

The ROM file I flashed is - Android_Revolution_HD-One_M8_45.0_758ff1.zip

Here is the current phone information:



When the phone loads now (takes a while to boot btw), the wireless doesn't work at all. I can't load the RUU image posted at the end of the article. Is there a better way of returning this to stock?

Cant Flash TWRP With Odin Complete(Write) operation failed.0>

Im trying to flash I have followed, I have the canadian variant of the S7 edge.
I keep getting <ID:0/007> Complete(Write) operation failed.

I've tried different ports, windows 7, run as admin, starting again with closing odin etc..
Enabled OEM unlock from dev menu

I did notice that the phone says FRP lock on.

Black and white jumbled video

Im having what is certainly a stupid problem. This morning I decided to update the touchpad (I think android was originally installed 3+ years ago). I used the guide here and got cm-11-20160314-NIGHTLY-tenderloin installed, everything went swimmingly. This tablet is used exclusively for radio and video in the kitchen and everything seems to work except netflix. More often than not when I start a video it comes up black and white in sort of a jumbled jigsaw puzzle. The audio is fine. I have tried, rebooting, uninstalling, force closing, clearing cache and data, and from the one google product forums thread I found dealing with a similar issue (http://ift.tt/1TVPA04), clearing both data and cache in chrome as well, to no avail. If I close and reopen the video over and over it sometimes works. Youtube seems to work flawlessly. Im stumped. I hope someone could help with this as the tablet was getting to barely usable and this seemed to have breathed some new life into it.

new to the shield, not to rooting but need help

OK, so hey guys and girls, I have the nexus 6p and have excellent experience with rooting android....I have actually built my first google stock ROM for nexus 6(shamu) and work on other teams for beta testing etc. In saying all that, I have not strayed away from moto, google, or Sammy software. I am buying a nvidia shield from swappa, but atliitle confused. Is their only 1 nvidia shield tablet? If not, which ROMs are compatible with k1 variant?

Unable to replace "ding" sound from FB Messenger app on Samsung S7 Edge

I apologize if this is not the correct forum/thread to post this . . .

I am trying to change the "ding" sound that FB Messenger plays everything a new message arrives but I haven't had any success. I have changed both the Notification Sound and Ringtone sound but it seems that these sounds are separate from where the "ding" notification from and I can't find the location where to change it. The smartphone is not rooted. I appreciate any assistance you can provide.

Brick by editting build.prop

i tried to unlock a pincode that i had in the phone by editting the buld.prop...
finally i bricked the phone and now i only can turn onhe phone on fastboot/hboot or CWM.
I tried to install custom rom, and stock rom but still bricked. i dont know how to install a boot.img (because my pc doesnt recognice the phone in fastboot)
if someone has a backup or something maybe will help, other ideas are acepted :confused:

Signature verification failed - Samsung Tab 4 - SM-T230NU

Hello,

Issue:
I receive a "Footer is wrong and Signature Verification failed" error when installing a Cross Compiled kernel through "adb sidechannel"

Question/help:
How do I properly install the newly cross compiled kernel on my rooted Samsung Tab 4 - SM-T230NU. I am stuck at this point. A step by step guide is GREATLY appreciated.

What I have done so far:
1. Downloaded what I hope is the right kernel from opensource.samsung.com
2. Cross compiled the kernel using toolchains recommended in the README file. I Cross Compiled on an Ubuntu system
3. I then downloaded AnyKernel and placed the zImage and a wifi kernel module in the appropriate location in the AnyKernel.zip file using "Archive Manager"
4. I received my error after I uploaded the AnyKernel.zip using adb sidechannel. Error was "Footer is wrong and Signature Verification failed"

Steps I have taken to troubleshoot or workaround thus far:
1. Install ClockWorkMod Recovery from the PlayStore but it does not support my tablet.
2. Reinstall AnyKernel and try again but it fails
3. tried AnyKernel2 but that fails as well.
4. Some tutorials teach the manual way (without Anykernel) but they all instruct one to get the boot.img. I could not locate the boot.img file so I got stuck.

Can you please provide some guidance?

Res issue & getting started +

Hi folks,

after long searchs, compares, thoughts and headaches, my decision went for a brand new Xperia Z5c. It is my first ever just-touch phone.
I am on Android 6.0 Marshmallow now.

I guess most of you have gained some experience already, so I would be glad if someone could give me some advices on my issues:

1. I would like to have more grids on home screen, smaller icons, spaces and texts, as well as applied to all apps. Just would like to "increase" the "resolution". that "small" from settings is not small enough for me. I can reduce the icon sizes by using the Holo launcher though, but still the apps are in big sizes, like calendary, emails, status bar, settings etc.

2. I was told by the seller that I should better avoid using the quick charger, but he seemed for me like not sure. If sony offers that, why should it be bad? Is that true?

3. When I start the radio it does not end, even I try to close it through the right app button (where all the running apps are listed), it closes there but still runs in background. when I put off the ear plugs, and plug it in again, it still continues with radio. Only restarting the phone helps. What can I do that I can run it normally and close whenever I want? Or what could be the reason for that problem?

4. What simple music player can you suggest for me?

5. is it possible to record a video with HD (ready) instead of FullHD with 60Hz ? How?

[Q] SM G900V Verizon S5 upgrade to 6.0.1 and keep root

I have a root Verizon S5 running 5.0 stock. I would like to upgrade to the new 6.0.1 and keep root. I've tried searching with no real success. Can I upgrade to 6.0.1 and keep root?

fyi - I disabled OTA updates, I think I froze or renamed the process.

If I can't use the stock ROM and have root, is there a 6.0.1 ROM the collective would recommend?

Can't install TWRP after installing a new board.

Hi everyone, just trying to install TWRP on my T999 S3. I had it installed before but after my mic died, I ordered a OEM motherboard and installed it. It's currently on 4.1.2, however everytime I try to install TWRP will any of the versions of Odin, it either takes forever to copy over or quickly does it.
What I get in my log in Odin

<ID:0/005> SingleDownload.
<ID:0/005> recovery.img
<ID:0/005> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/005> RQT_CLOSE !!
<ID:0/005> RES OK !!
<ID:0/005> Removed!!

What happens is the phone reboots but instead of booting into TWRP like it should, it reboots into the software itself. If I let Odin sit it will then show this
<ID:0/005> Remain Port .... 0
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)

However when I shut the phone down and try to boot into TWRP to install CM13, it just boots into the stock recovery :confused:. Any help would be great! Please note, yes i have tried 5 different usbs, all the ports on my pc, and it still does it. Thank you!

Water Resistant?

Whats the deal here, had an issue and called tech support, looked like an RMA and one of the steps was to verify the water sticker inside the sim slot didn't get wet and the pattern of small x's was still pink and visible. Mine was but I had been tempted to stick it in the sink for fun but now no way. Doesn't this seem odd?

Xperia m2 dual charging problem please help

When I connect my phone to the charger it doesn't charge I can hear the sound of the charging and it charges for seconds then I can't see the charging sign or the red lamb I tried to power it off and connected it again but the same I managed to charge it but when I tought the phone the charging stopped.

LG Magna LTE (H520G): booting into recovery mode causes factory reset

Hello, community!

I've successfully rooted my LG Magna LTE (H520G) using Kingroot and then replacing it with SuperSU via @Mr.W0lf's script.

I wanted to install the Xposed framework, so I booted into recovery mode, using Power+VolDown, as usual in LG devices, but instead of going into the recovery menu, the Android with the spinning polygons popped up, and then the phone rebooted into a factory-reset state, having to download and configure everything from scratch again.

Did I miss a step here, or does the rooting method change the recovery-boot shortcut in some way?

Stuck in a bootloop, please help

So I had my phone with TWRP and rooted, but then I upgraded to the latest firmware using Smart Switch on my PC.

Without doing any research I then stupidly flashed TWRP to my phone thinking I would just re-root it using TWRP and flashing the latest SUPERSU file; however, now TWRP doesn't recognize my internal storage and it is stuck in a boot loop unless I can flash SUPERSU or DT Verity fix. The internal storage is not recognized by my computer either when I plug my phone on even if I enable MTP in TWRP, I think this is something to do with the last USB debugging options but I am not sure?

What is my best solution without wiping my data?

If I copy the files to an SD card will TWRP recognize them? I am guessing no?

Can I flash stock back over TWRP to save my data? If so I am on Wind Mobile Canada, what file should I be flashing?

Lastly, I believe there is someway to send the files over ADP but I can't find any straight forward instructions on how to do so.

Changing motherboard helped?

Guys i have a rather silly question to all the g4users who got their mobo replaced. Did u see any increase in terms of Performance with the new mobo because my g4 has sn506 so.its sth like an 10 months old and icleanly installed v20d latest version available on it and i have constant overheating and throttling while light usage so my question is did the mobo replacement fixed overheating issues with v20d or is it just software related? (And yeah i know that i can flash newer software but this is not the question ;) )

Help! accidentally erased internal memory in TWRP. How do i FIX?

So I accidentally deleted all my files in TWRP recovery. Now I can't boot up cuz there's no ROM to boot to. I have tried sideloading a ROM but I get error messages during the process in TWRP.

Is it because I have S-On? I have no idea what to do now. Is there a simple step by step guide to just flash a new ROM or original ROM using ADB or Fastboot? This is what my screen says.. and i'm stuck at the "This build is for development purposes only" screen.

Solution: Enable Breathlight Notifications for Third Party Apps

i was really annoyed by not having a Status LED on this phone and digged into this. First i tried Setting the Battery level to something below 15 to make the Breathlight come on but as soon as a system Battery update was triggered the Light went off ... Next: Created a App to send a fake SMS to my phone (triggering the SMS_RECEIVED intend) - failed to get it running, needs to be a prviliged system app (priv-app), gave up on this ... looked into the sys interface ... and tadaaa:

I'm on DU Marshmallow. The front camera is crashing with the message: "cannot connect to the camera" when I tap to take a picture. Video works fine. Back camera works fine too.

N9108V - Note 4 for China Mobile version. 3G and LTE not working in Europe (Greece)

Hello everyone,

A Note 4 N9108V end up to my hands, but after using it i realised it cannot properly operate in my network.
It is a snapdragon variant, single-sim version for China Mobile, has lot of Chinese stuff totally useless if you are outside China and does not have Google apps also.
I manage to root the device, install custom CWM recovery, install a MIUI7 ROM that is quite good, install Google but still have problem with 3G coverage (and LTE ofcourse since in China LTE is different than EU)
I have 3G coverage, but if i will move to another location i will not be able to make calls, and i will also appear as unreachable if someone is calling me. Also data connection will not work. Later, it may work correctly for a while.
In GSM mode is working perfectly

I took it to a local repair center to check for hardware problem, they say that it is probably the baseband (modem) software that is designed specific for the China Mobile network, or there is a bug.
I tried all the available official ROMs and modems for this device (4.4.4, 5.0.1, 5.1.1) but nothing improved.
The only thing i manage to do is to have this amazing phone working only in GSM mode....
It is like having a Ferrari with pedals. :(

I am thinking if it is somehow possible to load the modem file for the EU model (N910F), and this may "unlock" the needed frequencies to operate correctly. Or even, if it possible to load the entire N910F or similar non-branded Note 4 formware to the phone, since i suppose the hardware is the same.
I tried to load this modem file and the n910F firmware with Odin but is not accepted, the procedure failed.

Any ideas, proposals etc?? (except of hammering the device, this will be my last option) :laugh:

Which version of Lollipop for H06L04 is the latest/best?

I just managed to downgrade back to LP H60-L04C151B507. Is this the latest? I couldnt find this info because some MM update for the Indian region worked on my European variant, so when I see a Firmware for a different region (like Russia) Im not sure if its supported... too paranoid to try

Is this the best LP firware available? I was very displeased with the MM beta so I want the best possible LP build :)

Please help me understand - No boot loop, but can't factory reset. Software not autho

Hello,
I am not a phone expert by any means. I am probably in the 'knows just enough to be dangerous category,' but I am quite willing to learn. Here is my situation as I understand it. Please advise whether my premise is flawed.

Phone: rooted Verizon Note 3 KitKat NC4 off contract / pre-paid , no warranty

Ultimate Goal: to wipe my phone and have a clean slate. Bonus if I could be able to backup images of my phone for the future. Heheeeee.

Sitrep: phone is in need of a wipe/do-over to resolve some minor annoyances, but factory reset doesn't work. It says "System software not authorized by Verizon detected...please shove it," or something. That is curious, because, since I am trying to get rid of allllllllll the software, it should just let me do it if it doesn't like some of the software. I probably don't understand this fully. (Or else they just want me to go to Verizon so they can sell me a new/worse/more despotic phone.)

I only get that message if i try to reset it, not every time i turn it on, so it doesnt bother me, but i do want to reset it, because it is full of cobwebs and battery issues. From reading this forum, I think the reason it won't reset is that about a year ago, I installed clockwork and did *something* to the recovery, but it freaked out, because my boot loader wasn't (and still isn't) unlocked, so I uninstalled clockwork. I don't remember why I installed it. It was too long ago. I think i thought i could back up my rom or something. Anyway, it has worked fine ever since, I just can't wipe it and it tells me about unauthorized software. I found instructions on here about 'flashing back to stock kitkat with Odin,' which I gather will fix my recovery, and as long as I don't do that clockwork recovery thing again, I can reset it whenever I want to, on KitKat. (I am not interested in "upgrading.") I was all set to do that, when, last night, to my joy, I saw the Verizon note 3 boot loader unlock has arrived. That (I think) means that I can (eventually) unlock the boot loader and go back to jelly bean. Yay! Or cyanogen!! Yayay!

Question: shall I first reflash KitKat in Odin, so that the recovery is operational, THEN unlock it? Or can I unlock it first, even if the recovery is messed up, skip fixing KitKat, and go back to jelly bean (or maybe cyanogen)? I am afraid that there is a right order and a wrong order, and I'm sure to pick the wrong one.

Maybe these 2 things have nothing to do with each other. I have no idea. I just feel like I might be at a crossroad.

[TIP] Restore boomsound personal audio profile

If you want to backup and restore your personal audio profile from boomsound, its located in /data/data/com.htc.htcadaptivesound/files/profiles

Just back up file inside that folder, switch roms, make a new profile in settings, and use a file manager to replace the newly created profile with your backup. Set permissions and reboot and it works ;)

Bricked Mate 7 (MT7-TL10)!

Hello guys,
How are you all ?,

I've got an bricked MT7-TL10 from a friend,
Phone stuck at Huawei logo only,
Bootloader is "Unlocked", but it won't let me flash anything,
Always get "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)",
Phone can't enter SD update mode so i can flash it by SD,
I've tried to unpack UPDATE.APP file from alot of firmware KK, LP and MM,
But phone won't accept flashing via fastboot at all,
So, what's next?, what can i do to unbrick this phone?,

App permissions keep resetting

Had a look in the Q&A forum and bugs thread but didn't find anyone mentioning this issue:

I have to grant permissions to my apps over and over again for some strange reason. Running MM 32.1.A.1.185 on E6653.
I have to re-grant permissions to my apps like once a week. Already granted Whatsapp permission to use camera/microphone a couple of times already as an example. I may try a factory reset if I can't find a solution in the next week

Blootooth Passwort Security for Everyone

I have an Question, would it be able to copy an Password script to an Blootouth Headset or Soundcube ???
I would like to give my Blootooth Devices an Security "Update" but dunno how i could code something like this.

[App] Monochrome - Make display B/W on low battery to reduce display power usage

Hi all,

Monochrome turns on monochrome (or black & white) mode when your battery is low, to further reduce display power consumption when your battery level is low. This means your device can last longer when its battery is low. This is most effective on AMOLED devices, like Samsung devices.

Monochrome is triggered when your device's battery level hits the LOW level as defined by the OEM (usually 15%) and Monochrome is triggered again when your battery level hits the OKAY level (usually 30%) as defined by the OEM. When your battery level reaches the LOW state, Monochrome is turned on and when your battery level reaches the OKAY state, Monochrome is turned off. This is all done automatically so you don't have to manage anything.

Monochrome also works on the GPU level, so Monochrome does not implement a hidden/invisible view on top of apps to enforce black and white colors. This means Monochrome does not run in the background and/or constantly monitor your battery level, it's only activated when your battery reaches LOW or OKAY states and after enabling/disabling B/W mode on the GPU level, Monochrome exits.

Monochrome requires ROOT. If you are NOT ROOTED then you need to manually grant WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission to the app by executing the following ADB command:

adb -d shell pm grant com.suyashsrijan.lowbatterymonochrome android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

TWRP Decrypt Password?

Managed to get the latest TWRP on my ATT A9. But when I boot into TWRP, it asks for a password. Every password I've put in, it denies. And if I cancel, it puts me into TWRP but it shows that I have 0 data on my phone. Can anyone help me understand what's going on? Thanks!

Extremly fast battery drain.

Hello, i have rooted galaxy s4 with android 6.0.1(CM13). My battery drains very fast ~1% per 2,5-3 minutes when i'm using spotify, chrome etc. My question is: is there any way to fix that problem? I'm using Greenify. I'm waiting for your suggestions :)

Nexus 5X Notification LED not working properly

I've noticed that my Nexus 5X notification LED cannot produce some colors.
For example, it's impossible to get any shade of orange.
If I use a simple app to change the notification LED color (eg. LED Tester), and try color code #FF0100, the Nexus 5X barely lights up.
It should be displaying bright red.
If the color code is #FF0000, then the LED displays the expected bright red.

I've checked that the correct values made it to the kernel by checking /sys/class/leds/red,green,blue/brightness. So it's either a kernel or hardware issue.

Anyone having the same problem?

Creating a barometer app for the Lumia 1020

In Lumia Phone Test, I can read the pressure. It updates about every half second. I know this is not of the official SDK, but at least this means the receptor is not just use to feed data to the GPS for a faster lock (as suggested on http://ift.tt/1PdL3XO)

My phone is unlocked and rooted. Any suggestion on how to do that without the SDK in WP8.1??

[Review] Imak clear case - HTC 10

Received the Imak clear case a few days ago.
I tried the Spigen hybrid before but wasn't happy with the sharp edges and the issue with the flash.
Got this and waiting for the Nilkin nature clear.











Still has a bit of a sharp edges but nothing compared to the Spigen hybrid case.
It is thin (advertised at about 0.9mm, tbc). Fits well on the phone and in the hand.
Protrudes a bit over the screen to offer some protection.

Probability of 2016 Nexus phones getting aptX codec?

So, if the rumors are true, HTC will make the 2016 Nexus phones, which I expect will have at least one model with a Snapdragon 820 processor and all the usual bit that Qualcomm delivers alongside it.

That brings the question, given that Qualcomm completed the purchase of CSR, the outfit behind aptX, last August, and all three of the flagship Snapdragon 820-packing phones (LG G5, Samsung S7, and the HTC 10) have incorporated aptX (which CSR/Qualcomm do say has to happen at the device manufacturers level, so it's not a requirement from Qualcomm to support the codec), what are the odds that an HTC Nexus phone will?

Bear in mind that no Nexus phone has supported the aptX codec so far as it is considered to be a proprietary technology and Google won't support/pay for proprietary tech, be it codecs or otherwise. I suppose it's the purist approach, which they are fully in the right to pursue, even if I preferred otherwise.

tl;dr version: No Nexus phone supported aptX, if HTC makes 2016 Nexus phone(s) with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (and Qualcomm owns the aptX technologies), what are the odds that Google might support aptX on a "pure" Android platform?

Red exclamation mark on recovery?

Hello,
I have the 64GB Nexus 6P - unlocked BL, haven't rooted yet, all stock. my recovery somehow doesn't work. whenever i try to boot into recovery i get red exclamation mark... that's weird because fastboot and device is working normally. i've even tried to reflash stock recovery image and TWRP and both doesn't work. help please? thanks in advance. I'm on may patch if it matters.

phone recognized through usb in Fastboot and Device Mngr. but not charging

My X9076 (Find7) is acting strange when I connect the usb to the phone it immediately is recognized by the computer, but only as a "Samsung Android Device". Additionally I can access it through fastboot but not adb......

Can someone please explain this or help me in someway??

Can't renice.

i can't renice for some reason. well not correctly.
if i try to use renice(toolbox) and change the scheduler i get an error.

if i use this command on any other android it works just fine, but not here.

renice -r 99 <pid>

when i try to change the scheduler i get this error when i use the aforementioned command.

sched_set_scheduler: operation not permitted

anyone have any clue why i'm getting this error, and how do i fix it??

i can perform the command on anything that is a "root" process, but i can't execute the app on anything that's not executed by "root."

ie. i can change the scheduler for debuggerd, but i can't change it for firefox. i can change it for daemons logged in as root, but i can't do it for apps executed from the desktop. i can't figure this out, and i've been at it for over a month. i figured a temp fix where i was changing renice ownership.group to root.root, and toolbox to root.shell, but it wouldn't always work, and lately it doesn't work at all. i have no idea what's wrong here, or how to fix these permissions. any help would be appreciated. 8(

T-Mobile D6616 Xperia Z3 - Are we completely stuck on the latest T-Mobile ROM?

Do us T-Mobile D6616 Xperia Z3 owners have any options to install a different Sony ROM from another variant that has a newer Android version (Marshmallow)? Our bootloader is locked but it's my understanding that the bootloader doesn't need to be unlocked to install another Sony Xperia ROM from the same variant. The question is: although it might be expected/understandable, what is the root cause as to why our D6616 soft bricks when trying to installing the ROM from another Z3 variant (eg. D6653)? Is there a certain piece of the ROM such as the baseband that causes the soft brick, in which case wouldn't it be possible to just remove the baseband from the ROM/FTF and it would work?

Are there any Devs willing to explore this or already know? I just want to know if us T-Mobile Xperia Z3 owners are completely screwed with no options?

By the way, Des from the product team at T-Mobile said that Sony dropped Dev support for the T-Mobile Xperia Z3... How lovely...

Thread: Text to speech in realtime pause from phone call

I need help with my application. The App contains 2 main threads, the 1th thread is the phone call. The 2nd thread is text-to-speech in realtime from the phone call.

The problem I have is that when I run the code on the Samsung S7 and htc One M7 it pauses the 2nd thread when I make a call. When I cancel the call the thread continues. There are some hard restrictions from Samsung because the apk works properly on Lenovo K3 Note. Please help me somebody, I can send an apk as private message.

Help! Broke my screen - how to transfer data to new device?

I'm hoping you guys can help out on this. I've been a bit out of the game and I'm pretty rusty these days, with pretty much all ADB/workaround knowledge forgotten. I broke my G3's display and cannot do anything other than power the device on. It has USB debugging enabled and is fully rooted with CM13. What can I do to retrieve/copy data from the device?

Frustratingly, by default, the USB connection to a PC is set to charge only and I cannot browse as a result, being unable to use the screen.

How to recover files, photos and apps after factory reset

My son somehow got to the factory reset setting and got everything deleted. Is there a way to recover what was lost? Unfortunately I never rooted this tablet and so I do not have a full backup using cwm or twrp and no titanium backups either. Is there a way to recover files like that from a pc where you can recover files after formatting.

Bootloop problem

Yesterday, while I was using Instagram, the device suddenly stopped working and restarted and now in boot logo (bootloop) and can't go to the start screen and I can't do a reset through recovery (No command) .!

HTC USB Drivers

I'm trying to restore my HTC to stock and flash the stock recovery, but my device isn't found via fastboot anymore. It worked fine for a long time until suddenly stopping (might be a Windows 10 thing). I checked my PC's device manager, and it is showing an error next to the HTC 10 under ADB Interface. I tried to use "search the internet for drivers" which comes back with nothing. I also tried installing HTC's Sync Manager, but it won't install the USB/fastboot drivers for the 10. Fastboot works fine for my S7 Edge, and Nexus 6P, so it must be an issue with the lack of drivers (showing none in the device manager) for my HTC 10. If someone has them, or a link to them that would be great! :)

MTK Droid Tools Loses Connection Randomly

I have a Blu Studio X+ (MTK6582), running stock 5.0.2 firmware with kernel 3.10. I'm having issues with connecting my phone to MTK Droid Tools. I have the latest 2.5.3 on both of the computers I tried this on. On my Windows 7 machine, Droid Tools doesn't even detect the phone at all. On my Windows XP machine, it will be detected just fine. It prompts me next to give the toolkit root permissions (even though my phone is already rooted), and I tell it to proceed. As soon as the square turns from yellow to green, meaning root permissions were granted, a dialog box pops up saying the connection with the device was lost. I need to reboot my computer to get it to connect again.

What am I doing wrong?

I extract the ramdisk.cpio.gz from my device now i´m able to assemble the new boot image. But i'm not sure about the mkbootimg file that is neccessary for assemble the boot.img here a request of the compiling guide:

[Q] Rescue Killed Shield Tablet K1

i'm trying to rescue my killed Shield K1.
we know that the tablet is still in APX-Mode and there is the possibilty sending commands with nvflash.
what we need is the cpuid or uid which is to get with a special script (thx Moscow Desire). in many cases was people able to find out the "cpuid" and obtain the SKB

i also tried to get the SBK from my K1 with a modificated script(changed the "vid_pid to 0x0955, 0x7F40" and "received_length" to 16) but without success. i got a wrong uid (just last seven digits was true the first eight digits was ziros) and thus a wrong SBK.

if we get the right uid we can be able to use nvflash.
hier is some questions:
how many digits are the right cpuid from K1?
can someone make a script for our purpose?

Battery troubles

So most of our G2's are nearing or older than 2 years.

Lately I've been having trouble with my battery, the battery seems to last a fraction of what it did. But I also notice that sometimes it reports the incorrect battery percentages and goes up by 1 or 2 percent during sleep, it also charges much quicker than it should.
Any ideas what's wrong or is this to be expected of an old battery?

Thread: Text to speech in realtime pause from phone call

I'm working on a project that include 2 main threads.

1th thread is the phone call. 2nd thread is text to speech in realtime from phone call.

It works properly on Lenovo K3 Note but when I run the code on Samsung it pauses the 2nd thread, when I cancel the call the 2nd thread continues.

Xperia Z5 music stops when volume too high??

Hi guys so I recently installed a tweaked mixer_paths.xml that increases the volume. Everything works perfectly only problem is that when the music increases in volume/sounds the phone immediately pauses the music. E.g was listening to drakes still here and just as the beat dropped the music stopped. It's like that with most songs. As soon as the beat drops, the music stops. Is this a feature that prevents too much volume entering the ears? How can I solve this problem?

Phone Stuck in Bootloop PLEASE HELP

So I tried to root my phone with the WinDroid Toolkit and after I installed TWRP and SuperSu my phone got stuck in the bootloop. I sideloaded a new version of SuperSu onto my phone then it was still doing the same thing so then I tried to sideload another version but it didn't go so then I went into the file manager and deleted everything inside the supersu folder then I tried to sideload again and it still wouldn't send it over then I tried sending over another zip file and it worked then I tried Su again and it didn't work so then I went searching online and I found Su systemless root and people said it worked so then I downloaded it and tried to send it over and it worked so then I boot up my phone and it's still stuck at the screen with the blue motorola logo sticker and it says android at the bottom. I also before doing the systemless root wiped the data cache and dalvik and nothing happened after that. I'm not sure what to do next. Also there's still nothing in the SuperSu folder even though I sideloaded a new one over. Thanks

USB GPS (Car PC)

Hi everybody,

I want to use the Nvidia Shield TV as a car pc. At the moment I use a Tronsmart Vega S89 for the same purpose which I have connected to a Globalsat BU-353-S4 USB GPS. The GPS is working just like an internal receiver on any smartphone.

I used a tutorial on minixforum to get it to work.

These are the steps i used:

add in the build.prop "ro.kernel.android.gps=ttyUSB0" and "ro.kernel.android.gps.speed=4800"
make a directory "/system/lib/modules" and copy "pl2303.ko" in the directory
copy "gps.default.so" in "/system/lib/hw"
copy "install-recovery.sh" and "init.gps.sh" to "/system/etc"
set permission 755
reboot


When I try to do the same thing on my new Nvidia Shield TV nothing happens. I read somewhere that one has to compile the PL2303.ko to suit the device, but I have no idea on how to do it.

It runs on full Android Marshmallow for Shield TV 1.2 and I was hoping to use it as a substitute for the S89.

I hope someone can help me get this to work.

Camera not working after root

I first rooted my Nexus 6p that was completely stock using the system less root method. After I flashed the modified boot and twrp and rooted, my camera wasn't working. It just shows the camera icon and a black screen. I looked up the problem and many people said flashing a vendor image would work, but after doing so, it just tells me there was an internal error, so I reflashed the factory images. After doing so, camera still wasn't working. I also saw one person flashed a different modified boot but this only gives me a bootloop. Does anyone know a fix to the camera problem? Thanks!

I have installed the 32 bits version,I get it in they site, but it's slow, is like it is rendering frame per frame, I think is because GPU or something, I tried differents resolutions with vga=ask boot command, but nothing change. Otherwise I have downloaded a VDMK disk with Remix OS installed, and that running perfectly, but I can't use superuser on it.

Additional settings grayed out

so I was watching some videos and one of the things missing on the LG V10 (at least I'm not able to find it) is the "Voice clarity" option... if I remember right it wasn't available on LP and on MM it's still not available unless I'm looking in the wrong place. Anyway, my concern is that while in the call settings towards the bottom under "Others", there's a "Additional settings" and "Call barring" that are both grayed out. Is this normal for T-Mo users?

I just installed the Beanstalk rom on my G3 and i downloaded an app called CPU X from the Store. I checked my OS info and i noticed it writes Marshmallow, Android N. :eek:
So maybe we will get the update to our D855 in the future?

Youtube minimize/maximize stutter

Hi,

In general the S7 edge might be somewhat faster than my Nexus 5X but in the Youtube app, my S7 edge and the S6 stutter when minimizing and maximizing the playing window. It happens when you drag it. It is okay, but it is not as smooth as Nexus 5X or LG V10 both on the Snapdragon 808.

Is this stutter an exynos SGS7 and SGS6 thing?

Would be cool to know if someone with a Snapdragon SGS 7 edge also has this problem, then it might be a software issue. It seems to be more pronounced when the video is already playing and then you drag it, not when it is paused.

Replacing stock bootloader in LG Risio

Hello everybody. Can I replace the bootloader in LG Risio with the one from Leon H340N using Flashify? I would take my chances of bricking the thing but first I would like to hear some thoughts from the geeks in the community. I did the same with the recovery and it just works fine, but the bootloader is a different beast.

The bootloader in H340N is unlockable, so maybe if I flash it in the Risio then the TWRP recovery might work without the secure boot error. Your comments please. Thanks.

[Help!!] trouble getting to cm13

"Zip file is corrupt"

For every single zip I try to flash (cm13 or gapps) aside from the cm13 downloaded from cmupdater

I can update to cm13 with that one but I cannot flash a gapps for the life of me. It keeps saying zip file is corrupt. What would cause this? I tested the zip out and it said there are no errors. Very confused.. please help!

Need Chinese EVA-AL00C00B168 / L19 ROM dual sim

Hi guys

Been playing around with the various roms here. Currently have what is supposed to be the L19 B138 firmware installed but it registers as L09 on my device (I suspect the reason is that it's not currently sold in that market).

While the firmware is great for Google integration it's lacking in dual sum management. The Chinese romantic allows for switching primary dims very nicely... not like the one I have now.

So if anyone has the stock Chinese rom to hand for the AL00 varient (3GB/32GB) please do share.

Rapid Charging

I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. The Nexus 6P doesn't have any type of fast charging built in to it. The phone will charge faster using a USB C to USB C cable because that type of cable is capable of delivering more charge to the phone. So essentially, as long as the cable is USB C at both ends, I should be able to rapid charge the phone using any USB C wall adapter or power and right?

Extreme Battery Life Problem?

For some reason, my battery has been very weird and unreliable recently. It will go from 80 percent to 20 perfect instantly and then cut off. It sometimes happens where I will open an app like Snapchat at around 50% and it will instantly kill my battery and shut my phone down. I have a picture of my battery stats right after my last cut off:

The phone was off for a total of around 3 minutes between it dying and being back on.

Does anyone know why this is happening or what I can do to fix it?

Bootloop fix help. - No recovery.

So, my friend came down to visit in FL from GA.. Her phone ended up snapping in half, but she found an older one in her car. We have since been trying to fix said phone, but nothing has worked. I've used Odin to try and install an OG firmware (which is nearly impossible to find, might I add) and that didn't work. It only made the bootloop issue worse. I also tried to use Odin to put TWRP on it, which showed signs of hope, but gave no real progress to the issue. The recovery menu doesn't exist. The power + vol up + home button doesn't boot to recovery which is why I figured I'd try a custom one. ADB doesn't work because USB debugging wasn't turned on before the phone got destroyed. Idk what happened to the phone before to cause this, neither does she. We simply found it in her car this way. She's going back tomorrow, but has no GPS to find her way, so I'm in desperate need of help. I've tried almost everything I can think of and this stupid phone still won't boot to recovery. I know if I can get it to recovery, I can fix it. Google hasn't been much help either. Everyone always suggests recovery mode, but I can't get to recovery.

Error recovery mode after upgrade to Custom Android 6.0

Hello I had stock ROM on my Lenovo A6000 (Kitkat 4.4.4).
I decided to upgrade it to Android 6.0 Custom ROM (url below)

I flashed recovery.img and wipe all data according to manual, then I installed custom ROM. Then I tried to install Gapps, but I made a mistake and I downloaded ARM not ARM64 gapps. So I turn off the phone, put my SD card into computer and copy correct Gapps. After goes to fastboot mode (long press [volume down] and [Power]) I tried to wrote "fastboot boot recovery.img" from PC.
There was an error following:

Command: fastboot devices works (PC see my phone attached). Is there any way to install ROM (located on SD card) via fastboot commands? (FYI: if I turn on the phone, it shows Lenovo K-something - not A6000, and "adb devices" cannot see it)

When i boot or reboot my rooted my Samsung galaxy grand prime g530h it directly enters in recovery mode , WHY ?
What should i do to solve it ?

Reduce screen brightness on boot ?

Hello, I'm a beginner on this forum and I want to know if it's possible to reduce screen brightness on the boot screen ? (after the Sony Logo)

Also, is it possible to reduce the brightness below the minimum? (My poor eyes at night)

Can someone upload the software from Huawei for the unlock tool?

Every time I try to download the Huawei unlock tool from their website, it takes me to a Chinese website saying that the server is busy. I was wondering if someone has that software file floating around on their computer that they could upload on here so I can download it?
