iOS via USB OTG

Has anyone been able to connect to an iOS device with this phone and USB OTG. I know next to nothing about iOS, but have a guy on my crew who uses iOS in the field...with spotty reception at best (middle of nowhere) and if he takes photos in the field I would like to be able to transfer to mine that has great service to be able to email back to the office.

Any suggestions, other than the one I already gave him to throw away the iPhone 6 plus and buy a real phone with Android?

Hangouts Crash in Work Profile SMS

Hangouts repeatedly crashes when trying to type a GVoice SMS in my Android for work profile. It works correctly in my main profile. I'm able to create a new message, but as soon as I try to type in the text field, it crashes. When installed as a system app, it just tells me it has crashed and I have to click OK. When installed as a user app, it gives me the option to report the crash. The system info from the report suggests that the app is trying to do something with another SMS function.

I have tried reinstalling and recreating the work profile. I have installed the latest nightly CM and the latest openGapps. I've tried excluding hangouts in Gapps and manually installing from the Play Store. I've tried manually installing an older version because I found a relevant thread on Google Product Forums.

I have the same setup on my Z300c (Zenpad 10) which is running rooted stock (Android 5.0), and I'm not having any problems.

Touch screen latency

I couldn't find anything on search for this but I just recently got this phone and everything about it is great except for the touch screen. Whenever I scroll through anything the delay is really apparent and even though it scroll smoothly. The touch input is very long. It's like scrolling with a rubber band. Also whenever I try to type really fast messes up sometimes. Is this a known issue or is it just my device that had terrible touch latency?

removing navigation buttons

Just wondering if there is a mod out there that can remove navigation button until you need them? I know they had one for MM to where you can press button at bottom and make them go away until you actually needed them....do they have one for N? Thanks in advance to all who reply. :good:

Need help galaxy mega stuck in boot loop

I was using my Mega like normal, tweeting. All of the sudden it froze so I pulled the battery. Now it's stuck in a reboot loop. Tried resetting and clearing cache in recovery but its still stuck. Please help!

[Android 6.0.1] White list for lockscreen notification

Hello

I have a lot of notification in my lockscreen, i can hide it in apps > (the application) > display in lockscreen but only by single apps.

It's like blacklisted an app

I want the same thing, but in white list mod

For example if I Just want sms and mail notification in the lockscreen I choose these two in a white list and all the others App I have can't display a notification in the lockscreen

I search on Google but I only find a thread in xda asking for how to hide weather notification in the lockscreen, but it's not what I looking for

And I find nothing on xposed, so did you have an idea of one apps can do the job?

Help me please.need a rom for alcatel one touch c5?

So my alcatel one touch pop c5 would randomly shut off 20 secs in and few minutes later it wont boot past the startup screen.I went into recovery and cleared cache,did a factory reset and now every time I turn it on "Android is updating optimizing app 1 of 5.."and when its almost complete it would freeze and go back to the startup screen and it repeats all over again.I wrote about this on some site and I was told I need to flash a ROM but I dont have a sd card and this adb thing is confusing ,help?:crying: btw I do not have an advanced option in recovery mode

Display Issue after latest update to android wear

Hi Experts , after the latest update to Android wear, my watch worked almost fine the whole day but then suddenly the display become distorted - have rebooted the watch multiple times but of no avail.

Thou the watch was connected but was useless as i cant see anything. I then unpaired it hoping that a factory reset might fix but that didnt help either. I suspect the display has become faulty or some other hardware error --- your thoughts please?

RedMi 3s no System installed

Hi, the story is:
I got the phone with unlocked bootloader. I try to install TWRP. After it was installed I wiped data/cache/dalvik/internalstorage/system:crying:. After this I tried to install the latest global ROM but after a few secs the display turns black. Now I can only boot in the Fastboot. I try to install ROMs with MiFlash but everytime I got errors.
Does anyone knows an solution or is this device now not repairable? :crying::confused:

hi all!! well when i enter to SETTINGS, i dont have HOTSPOT menu. :/ someone can help me? my phone is Note 7 Sprint. And i use other apps to share wifi (others wifi hotspot apks) and any device i connect to the internet cant navigate (no ip address), but i can navigate to any page.

Someone have the same problem? or how to ENABLE wifi hotspot menu?

Root after soft brick

I just want to know if i can still root my phone.. I soft brick my phone.. So i search for a stock rom in the net then flash it and thank God it get my phone running again... Instructions:
0. Make a full backup of your phone, coming from stock you will loose all data, since this disables force encryption!
1. Install a custom recovery for your phone, like this one here:TWRP
2. Follow the instructions on the page above, until you get a working recovery
3. Download the Kernel from below and copy it to your external SD Card
4. Reboot to your recovery by pressing volume up, home button and power button at the same time.
5. Now, since mentioned many times, this kernel get's rid of force encryption, so you need to wipe all data
6. Go to Wipe, click on format data, write "yes" then reboot to recovery
7. Go to wipe, advanced wipe, select: cache, data, internal sdcard, dalvik cache and wipe them all
8. Install zip/select the kernel
9. Flash supersu, phh's root or xposed, just all things that modify your boot.img
10. Wipe cache and dalvik cache (recommand)
11. Reboot

Flashed wrong boot.img now can't even start recovery.

I was trying to install custom recovery in my MMX A106 and accidentally flashed a wrong boot.img
Now when I start my phone it flashes the Micromax logo for a microsecond and then goes black.
I do had backed up the data but I need my stock or any other recovery to run the restore.
Kindly help.

PIVOTAL CROSSROADS... Any help is better then no help.

I am a Nexus advocate and the same will most likely be true no matter which name or branding Google chooses to use... that is as long as they don't steer away from the customizability and the virtually impossibility of a software brick.

Anywho I am a owner of a 6p. I bought it in Feb. around Valentine's day. The reason this is revenant is because @ that time is when the gold nexus came out and was on sale. The only problem being was I didn't want the gold.. I wanted the aluminum one. I was able to remedy that easily enough. I ordered a new Rear housing via ali express which came with the glass and bottom plastic piece that covered the screws. I have repaired my Nexus 5 lcd probably 5 times. So I have some experience with mobile repair. When the back finally came in (like a month). I watched a quick tutorial of a tear down. When I was applying heat I used a little too much and ruined my camera. I was able to access the camera but it was very blurry to the point of not being able to make out what ever it was. So I ordered another camera via ali express again, waited a month, then attempted another repair. This time I had no issues with the heat gun or removing the rear housing. To replace the camera was not as easy as it would have been for the Nexus 5... there are several steps involved... one of which being too take out the battery... I cannot figure out for the life of me why Huawei would feel it necessary to apply a **** ton of adhesive on a battery that has little to no wiggle room but they did. While I was attempting the removal I ripped the poly bag and could instantly smell the lithium. Soooo I ended up ordering a new battery from China again. While I was waiting for it to come in the phone fell off of my bench and cracked the screen. I had no idea if the screen would work or not until the battery arrived so I could test. Well the battery came in finally I installed it with no issues. The phone is once again in one piece but unfortunately the screen does not work, but, I am not sure that it is only the screen not working. Is there anyway that I would be able to troubleshoot or verify that it is only the screen that isn't working? This is why I named the post pivotal moment... if it is only the screen and I can somehow verify it then ill purchase a screen... but if I order the screen, replace it, only to find out that it is not the screen where the problems reside and/or it is only one of many problems then I'll probably give up and lick my wounds.. So, in a nutshell, is there anyway to run a diagnostic or anything like it... At this point ANY help or suggestions are welcome.

Are Android Nougat 7.0 custom roms impossible for our devices?

Is this more of thing for OEM companies not going to update their snapdragon 800/801 to nougat (not that I would expect any of these older devices with this soc to get updated anyway), or is this something that any developer won't be able to get around?

G920f No Network signal and settings

Hallo,

After water damage my phone have no mobile network, no emergency call
The Settings in menu will be not shown, i can't change nothing.
I have stock ROM 6.0.1

It's a hardware issue or software ?
I would say Hardware, but i don't understand why i can not see Network Settings in menu.

I've restore my tegra over twrp, and when the tegra restart, i received a message with "system ui has stopped".

What is the easiest and the best way to update CM13??

Im new on custom rom stuff, but with a tutorial from here I was able to install TWRP and CM13 on my i9300.
Im very happy with it, using for about 2 months with some few bugs here and there.
Now my question, how do I update my CM13 without lossing all my config and apps?
Via OTA seems to be the easiest, but do I will lose my apps and configs?
Is there anyway to do it with the TWRP recovery?

Replacement LG G4 Rear Camera not focussing properly at a distance.

Hey guys. I broke the camera glass awhile ago and got some dust inside the lens of the rear facing cam leaving me with no choice but replacement. I first bought a replacement off of ebay... but it was a dud. My variant of the G4 didn't work with it. I have a Canadian Rogers G4. After getting my refund and doing some more research, I went for the fixez one (ow.ly/PSZL303Mjkv). Super smooth transaction. Easy install. Perfectly recognized by my G4. I usually mainly use the front facing cam, but a couple of months into having this thing, I'm noticing all pictures taken at a distance come out blurry. The phone has a hard time focussing unless it's super close. After completely resetting my device just to rule that out, same issue. I put the old cam in and found that even though there was dust present on the lens, it was perfectly capable of focussing at distances. To me, it looks like I've proved it out to be the Camera itself and not the device. Can anyone shed some light on this or help steer me in the right direction? I've reached out to Fixez and should get a response within 24 hours but I'd love to not have to go through the whole refund/search process again. Thanks guys! I love this camera, but know it can take way better pictures than I'm currently getting.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N910F) Hard Bricked itself - RELINK HS-USB QDLOADER 9008

Hi,

words cannot describe how p***** off I am with this phone. I've had it for quite a while, ever since updating it to Android Marshmallow I've faced a lot of issues. Main one being the slugglish speed of the Note 4, and it turning off before it reaches 0% battery life (often in the 15% zone it would turn off) and when the phone did turn off, turning it back on again with the 15% of remaining battery life would just kill itself in a bootloop on the Samsung splash screen, it would not go on and play the Samsung animation but rather bootloop on the splash screen with the model of the phone. After overcoming this issue, (by charging it before it reaches 20%) I still was not happy about the performance and how often the phone would freeze using Facebook. I blamed the app for not being well developed for android Marshmallow on the Note 4 and uninstalled it. However, the phone would still freeze and play up. So I decided to give a factory reset a go and that made no difference whatsoever. I thought it was my battery as that would explain the shut down of the phone before reaching 0% battery life; I ended up purchasing two brand new batteries.

HERES THE CURRENT STORY

Whilst I waiting for them to arrive, I turned the phone off and put it in my drawer hoping that keeping it off might just make a difference. 3 days later the batteries came, after work I came home to try them out on my phone and guess what? The phone wouldn't turn on. I put the other battery in thinking it was just a bad unit but nope, that wouldn't work either. Last resort, I used my previous battery and still... it doesn't work. I put the battery in my external battery charger thinking it was just the USB port that died but the external battery charger charged the battery up and the phone would still not turn on. What's going on? I decided to open up the phone as I've opened it up before hand to repair minor issues that we're easy to replace. Reconnected the screen, cameras, ear piece, charger port... still no luck? Could it be the screen had died? Only one way to find out... test it on a computer and find out what the computer detects it as.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, not many programs are installed but all the essentials for my phone are, USB drivers, KIES, etc... Also, just to add to this I have not unlocked the bootloader on this phone, nor have I attempted to root it. It's just been living a stock life.

I put the battery in my phone, plug it into the computer and it didn't pick up anything.... oh wait... about 10 seconds later it starts downloading a driver. Woohoo! Some relief, but the real question is. Which is at fault? The screen or the motherboard? I was hoping neither... my temper just shot in the sky after finding out the driver being installed was QHSUSB_BULK. I knew exactly what this was, I had a HTC One which I hard bricked and it resulted in QHSUSB_DLOAD. But this? I wasn't so sure, so I googled it hoping it wasn't a full hard brick but just a soft brick, even though hard bricks show no life in the phone. Moments later after researching my PC said the drivers we're installed and the driver was named... "RELINK HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM8)" At this point I just lost it. How can I be to blame? I remember 100% that this phone has no attempts of being rooted or modified in any way. I do not have any knowledge on using a JTAG and do not wish to spend so much time and money on a JTAG to fix this phone. Is there no other way around this? How could this have happened? Was it the battery? Or something I replaced in the phone? The only thing I did replace was the dock for the home button, and charger port. Could that have put it into the casket?

Bell Galaxy Note 7, root? Roms? Questions!

I cannot remember the last phone I rooted and modded... because I been on a Samsung kick for a while... and I thought it was not really possible with knox etc?

So for starters, can we root a bell note 7? Second, can we flash custom roms? Third, is there such thing as a pure rom, that eliminates all samsung crapware? I will search and look around, but I find these forums very confusing... and american based, so I want to be crystal clear in what I want to do

Note 7 Verizon Ringtone will not stay set, Reverts back to VZW Airwaves

This bug or issue is driving me crazy. Changing the ringtone to any stock ringtone or even custom ringtone works fine until you reset the phone, then after about 2 or 3 min of the phone being reset it changes back to the VZW airwaves ringtone. This happens like clock work every singe time. I have done factory resets and it still does this. I have also seen this on other carrier Note 7s as well. I'm hoping someone is aware of this issue and gets a fix out asap. Anyone else seeing this bug?

Does the note 7 really have gorilla glass5?

So today I'm in my car waiting foe food in a deice through and I dropped my phone. It didn't hit anything really hard that i could tell, but sure enough there's a pressure mark with a spider crack going across the phone. I have a invisishield screen protector and a spigen case on it and yet here my phone is with a cracked screen. I'm a little pissed off about this. Luckily I do have insurance and my deductible is low but still. Phone is less than 2 weeks old and it didn't even take a minor drop in the car. I drive a new Ford Explorer.

MMS and APN Settings

Since receiving my Redmi Note 3, I've been very happy with the phone and software, however I have not been able to receive multimedia messages, is this due to alternate APN settings?, I'm on Australia Woolworths network 4G telstra.

However these settings are default normal telstra, would this be the reason or is it something else? Cheers

Irig 2 Soundcamp Galaxy S7 cracking popping noise

Hello, I have an Irig 2 and I'm trying to use it with soundcamp. I can't find any support for soundcamp so I'm hoping someone has corrected my problem.

When I use any effects soundcamp (besides ampitube, which ironically works great) on my guitar, I get constant cracking and popping every time I play a note. I placed my phone in airplane mode and shut off all other apps. In addition, I also get cracking and popping everytime I playback any guitar recordings . Regardless if I have any effects on. Please help!!!

3rd Gen Apollo can't re-enable OTA

I haven't touched this tablet in almost a year and cannot remember how i went about disabling OTA updates. Im on 4.5.2 rooted and safestrap installs fine but will not boot into recovery. So per another thread i was going to update to 4.5.5.1, root, and try to reinstall safestrap. I tried the hdx toolkit but when enabling it says "killed" a bunch of times and never really looks like it does anything but says its re-enabled. it is not enabled. Any ideas on how to re-enable OTA updates if that toolkit will not work. I was going to manually update but there is no internal storage folder when i plug in the tablet. So that isn't working either.

Phone not recognize by abd devices

I guess I just messed up my phone...

Long story short: Flashed TWRP and accidentally let it root my phone, so it wouldn't boot. Flashed venom rom and it booted ok, but now I don't have wifi, mobile data, IMEI IS GONE, and phone won't be recognized by pc in download mode or normal mode. I want it to relock it so I can flash the stock ROM, but since pc don't recognize it, I can't go further.

Any help will be appreciated.

Return to Stock? XT1097 RETCA

I was wondering how I would return my moto x to stock firmware. Am I just able to flash the stock firmware files? If so, can anyone provide the latest retca 6.0 firmware files for xt1097 as I don't want to FUBAR my device. If it counts for anything, I was on MPE24.49-18 marshmallow.

Unlocking the device with the latest update 6.0

Just bought this phone for $40 clean imei and ready to be activated with sprint. However, i tried unlocking it using different methods but none of the methods work at all. i don't want to risk bricking the device. I contacted Sprint and they told me i have to call the previous owner to request otherwise they won't unlock. I called the international tech team and they told me the same. The owner won't respond to my texts or calls and now I am just stuck with this device! I searched in here and found some members who are willing to do but none of them I could trust. One who wants to get full control of my laptop and pay him in advance $30, and the other guy want me to ship the phone, pay him $60 and just wait for it!! he's not my dad , he is not a relative, so thats a big NO. Please help if you know any method that may work , other sites won't unlock a CDMA phone especially Sprint devices. So I either find a way to unlock this ugly device, or just sell it. BTW Sprint told me i can have a prepaid account and wait 90 days then request and thats a no either. I don't know what to do at this point

all about coolpad note 3 plus

There is a stock rom link for this device which is corrupted
Even root file for this phone is harder to find
And after root there is no custom recovery
So cant even install exposed
And if we try to install recovery from note 3 it wont boot in recovery any more
Just tell me what to do??
Cant flash stock cause its corrupted (downloaded 7 times with highspeed net website shows size of 1. 9 gb but file size what you download is 1. 32 gb)

Quick Charge 1.0-2.0-3.0/Adaptive Fast Charging/Type-C specification?

I just ordered 2 Note 7s (one for my wife, one for me). I figure it would be a good time to stock on up some Type C wires. Well 5 hours of research later i'm about to go back to a beeper and AA batteries. Let me just lay explain how I understand everything so far, Quick Charge 1.0-2.0-3.0/Adaptive Fast Charging are different competing "formats" in fast charge tech, Adaptive Fast Charging being a Samsung only thing, Quick Charge being a Qualcomm thing. Both of these "formats" are not USB Type C certified. Type C on it's own will fast charge as part of the spec. Quick Charge 3.0 does other bad things like take over data pins to give even more juice to the device, more so than Type C can give. Also both Quick Charge 1.0-2.0-3.0/Adaptive Fast Charging are always "hot" where if you have a in spec Type C charger it does not flow power till it sees a device is plugged in? Recently an issue popped up that "smart" Type C cables were trickling in spec Type C chargers to flow juice by pretending it was a device, this caused issues where it could flow fast charge (as in the built in to Type C spec fast charge) into a non fast charge device. This is really only an issue since Type C cables (as in Type C on both ends) because you need a chip in the wire to control how power works since you could plug both ends into wallworts for example, so in theory, no dumb Type C to Typc C wire should exist, right? Do I have all this right so far?


Let's back track to my Note 7s. I'm "safe" if I use the OEM charger and wire (safe in "" because it's always hot thanks to Adaptive Fast Charging). So being the Note 7 is kinda a bridge device between micro USB and type C the only cable it should ever get is a USB A to Typc C, right? It would be unsafe to plug in a Typc C charger and use a Type C (both ends) wire, right? Now also, I notice other strange things with this entire thing. I bought a wireless quick charger off amazon, offbrand but well reviewed. It want's Quick Charge 2.0 power. So you look at Anker and it's PowerIQ line. It's trying to be a jack of all trades, I don't see to much info on them. Would they be safe to use to charge my phones?


Is all this confusion just part of a new plug roll out? In 5 years time will I be able to just buy wires without worrying like I used to with micro USB?

Suddenly have keyboard lag - can't work out how/why

Running a non-rooted Duos Note 7 with Nova launcher and about 30 apps (keeping it light for now). It's run smooth for the past week and then suddenly (about 12 hours ago I started to experience keyboard lag). It was around the time I changed the system font to Samsung Sans (via the official store) so I switched it back but nothing changed. I thought maybe it's my Google Keyboard, but it's doing the same thing with the stock Samsung app.
I type fast and the letters on the screen feel like they can't keep up. Deleting is even laggier.

This is the kind of crap I experienced when I had a Note 1 years ago. Didn't think it would still be plaguing me. Anyone have any bright ideas or experiencing the same?

[Q] Applications stopping at every time.

Good afternoon.

I have a problem with Mother Moto RAZR M: Every 8-10 minutes, an application stops. Almost never is the same application. Per example (the order of the last 5 applications):

WhatsApp
Google Play Services
android.process.acore
SimCity BuildIt
android.process.phone

Need you to know what they stop even if I'm not using them (nor opened them).

Also, if it's of help, I always had the problem what, when entering to "Storage", just 7 seconds later it stops and closes ALL applications.

PD: I already flashed a new ROM. 3 times. Always the same problems.
PD2: I always flash the Stock Verizon ROM. My mother dislikes A LOT custom ROMS because she lost a Samsung Galaxy S because trying to put a Custom ROM, and I hard-bricked my RAZR M almost a year ago trying to use a Custom ROM (I still have that dead-corpse in my room)

Stuck In a bootloop any help?

I decided to downgrade to 4.5.3 i rooted then went to flash TWRP with flashify it flashed, the kindle fire said its battery was at 10 but apparently it wasn't I clicked ok to reboot with flashify then it gave me the low red battery screen so when i hold down the power button it gives me the red battery so i plug it in and instead of giving me the the lightning bolt it shows the white amazon screen then goes black then shows the white amazon screen again if i plug it in and hold volume up and power it boots into stock recovery with the your fire failed to start factory reset or reboot factory resetting does nothing
anyway to fix this. :confused:

Can't access efs files at all from cm

When I try to access my /efs/ folder my phone immediately reboots. When I try to extract efs1.emmc.win from my backups, nothing is extracted. Is my efs corrupt? I'm on CM 13 for N910H, and I'm trying to switch to stock ROM by copying my nv_data files over to my stock /efs/ if I can actually access /efs/ through a file manager on my phone.

Battery dead?

My N10 started to automatically power off a few months ago when the battery indicator showed 10%, and that power-off number gradually increased over the past few months. Two days ago it automatically powered off when the battery was 25%. But the trouble now is that, when plugged in with a power adaptor, the battery does not seem to get charged even though it shows charging when I push the power button. I tried to power it on once, but it automatically powered off again.

Is it an indication that the battery is dead?

Also, when I was trying to remove the battery, I broke some piece around the pins on one of the ribbon cables. Can this cable be replaced somehow?

G5 SE (LG-H845) receiving its first ever firmware update

Region code IDN, receiving the August security patch today, firmware V10d-IDN-XX. Was previously on April. Patched one of the QuadRooter vulnerabilities, but not all of them quite yet. Seemingly nothing new in the software itself; maybe the home screen folder background became a little more transparent? Can't decide if that's just my imagination.

Droid Incredible Bootloop root

I know these are old forums and old phones, but I'm hoping someone can still help me. I have a Dinc and I am trying to root it, it is stuck in the white htc incredible endless reboot and I would like to hopefully get it to work again. I was able to get the hboot unlocked but I can"t do anything more since I can't put the phone in to usb debugging. Fastboot commands work, but anything with adb will not work and is says the device is unavailable. Anyone with any info is greatly appreciated!!

Remix Os - Alienware - Kingston USB - error -22

Remix OS worked for a month on my Alienware laptop.
Now it is not working. I get the following error: string description 0 read -22

I have tried everything from format USB to download new Remix OS and nothing.

Flashing to g930u

Hiya,guys! A newbie here. I want help with flashing my g930v pf2 as of 1st of july,2016 to g930u mainly for the battery life cuz now i get 3 to 4 hrs maximum before my phone cries for a charger (below 15%).
So i know that i should root in order to backup but how do i backup with flashfire?
Secondly,which rom should i choose bcs smb here uploaded samfirm and the other rom is in the at&t topic?
Third question is what do u do before flashing cuz i remember from previous phones where twrp was available that i had to delete cache and dalvik? R there any other things that must be done before or after the flash?
And last but not least,r u using the fast charger function only with the original charger and does it really charge faster?

Troubleshoot Random Resets?

Hello

I'm getting 1-2 restarts almost daily, and what is consistent is that the phone will short-vibrate once, then a pause of about 8 seconds, then two quick short-vibrates in succession (about .25 sec apart) and then the phone restarts.

This can happen when in my pocket, it can happen while actively using it, can also happen when just sitting there on my desk with screen on. I haven't seen a pattern regarding app use or activity triggering the restart.

I posted a question a month ago about how people with Androids can troubleshoot restarts. There HAS to be a way (app, etc) that allows you to see crashlogs **without** rooting your phone. Yet, I got no replies here to my last post.

Is this really such a hard thing to do with Android? Please, tell me if I'm wrong and missing something completely obvious. I'm right now factory resetting my phone cause I can't figure what's causing this.

Can't save web page to homescreen

Has anyone else noticed that the 'Save to home screen' menu item is missing from Chrome on the Fire? I installed Chrome on mine and it works fine, but when I click on the menu in the upper right, there is no save to home screen there. It's there on my Samsung phone and tablet as well as other folk's tablets that I've tried. Searching the web, there do seem to be some phones that have this item missing as well.

Is this some configuration thing that Amazon foisted on us?

Disable apps on MIUI 8

Hi at all. I've noticed that after the update to MIUI 8 is disappeared the option to disable apps (on MIUI 7 was possible). From official forum I've read this, so MIUI consider a feature this thing. I think that all want to be free to disable some apps. Is possible to enable this again without root or using twrp?

Ampe A78 does not enter bootloader mode from adb

hello experts
I have a dual core ampe a78 3g tablet (cpu qualcomm msm8625-Android 4.04)
Using the "adb reboot bootloader" command, the device reboot and display the message "[1030] fastboot bootloader ...." but does not enter the fastboot mode.
If I use the "adb reboot recovery" command, restart and enter recovery mode correctly (<3e> recovery)
Need some suggestion on how to enter bootloader mode if possible.

Power,Volume and camera buttons have all stopped working... and now the phone is off

The title is pretty self explanatory. Noticed when i woke up that neither the power, volume or the camera buttons work. They still clicked when pushed but no function beyond that. The phone its self still worked before i pressed the yellow reset button next to the sim card slot. when i pressed the yellow reset button the phone vibrated and turned off, never to come back on. When i plug it into a charger it still has the LED light except its off so i cant just press the power button to turn it back on. When plugged into the computer, then computer recognises that a device has been plugged in (makes the dun-duh! sound) but the phone is not recognised by either the PC companion or Sony EMMA. Same deal with pulling it into a mac. The Sony mac companion program pops up automatically , it says it does not have any device connected, despite it popping up when i plug my phone in...Ive put adb on my computer and tried adb reboot but again it does not recognise the phone while its off. Is there anything i can do to fix this phone or at least turn it back on? I've spent enough on getting this phone prepared as it is so a DIY fix would be great.any help at all would be much appreciated, thanks

Change sound profile icons?

I am trying to figure out how to change the sound profile icons in the power menu. Does anyone know what .jar file I would edit to change these?



I also achieved working screenshot in the power menu, (for that lollipop/custom rom feel) and will be writing a tutorial so this can be implemented on the ROMs for the 210 and 210r. (Possibly more but idk.)

ViPER4Android on Marshmallow.

Sorry for another topic, but this seems unresolvable. SELinuxModeChanger says it can't obtain root, even tho I'm rooted, and no other app has a problem with root. Terminal Emulator also says that it has no permission when doing setenforce. And even if I flash a V4A build claiming to bypass enforcing SELinux, it constantly crashes, making my device unusable. Anyone else having a problem like this?

Stock G900a downgrade from Marshmallow to Lollipop

Searching via cell isn't great for me at the moment. I've found a few threads with lollipop files to use in Odin. But I haven't read anything that says it's simple to flash them and downgrade properly from Marshmallow to Lollipop. Is there a tutorial/file thread already on here that I am missing via search? Is this something I can do without rooting?

Snapchat without Xposed detection

So as everyone knows, Snapchat refuses to work with Xposed framework installed. I know there are ways around it such as uninstalling Xposed and then installing snapchat blahblah, but is there a version that works with Xposed floating around somewhere? I'm using an LGK7 and installing Xposed wasn't easy and I don't want to go through the trouble of figuring out how to uninstall it without bricking my phone.

How to set keyboard sound volume at boot?

I have encrypted A3500F with rooted Android 4.4.2. Each time after the boot when typing the decryption password I have to decrease the sound volume of the virtual keyboard because it's way too loud.

Is there a way to set it permanently to lower volume?

I've tried searching for some built-in setting but failed. I appreciate your help with this regard.

I flashed Android from this site to my HTC Desire 820g+ dual sim, after the flashing I have a cracking sound every 30 sec, but I don't get it but even I play some sound from internet or from storage.
I searching for tow days in the internet to solve this problem, I lost my IMEI numbers and recovered it.
I deleted the data folder when having the root permissions and rebooted my phone, also it doesn't work.
I am sure it is a software problem cause it caused in other device (HTC Desire 820g+ dual sim) in the same day after flashing.

Cant get OTA updates on my Samsung s5 from AT&T after flashing android 5.1.1

Hello I have the SM-G900A and I have been having some trouble, so here is the story. So as we all know the only major carrier that hasn't received the marshmallow update for the galaxy S5 is AT&T. I got really irritated and wanted to root my phone and download a rom that had marshmallow on it for my S5. In order to root my phone I had to downgrade my version of android to 4.4.2 or lower to use towelroot. I found a stock version of android of 4.4.2 on this website and flashed it through odin and got stuck in a boot loop. I then proceeded to clear cache and reset my phone to try another rom. I tried three roms that were android version 4.4.2 and 5.0. Then I decided to try and flash a rom that was the same version as what I started out with and it worked. By the fourth try I got out of the boot loop but my phone was laggy and buggy unlike before. I also noticed that I had a different older default keyboard and I had the S finder and quick connect feature under the brightness scale in the notification panel. Something I didn't have before on my original phone to start. So I realized it wasn't the same AT&T software I started with even though the rom said it was for AT&T. Also the AT&T OTA updates didnt work. I would download them but every time I tried installing them it would say booting in recovery mode in the top left corner and get to 25% then fail. The ironic part about this a couple weeks after I did this AT&T announced that they were pushing marshmallow out to the galaxy S5. So can someone please help me get back to the original version for my phone and be able to get my OTA updates. Also I tried using Sam Mobile and samsung Kies and neither of those worked.

Nova Launcher prime not "sticking" as home default?

Can't seem to get nova launcher to "stick". I can launch it, hit home and it goes back to the Huawei home launcher.
In settings, hitting the "press to make home" the screen blinks, it goes to nova launcher, but when you hit home it
reverts back to huawei home.

Hi! I just wanted to set up a VPN via Settings > More > VPN. When I clicked the "+" icon, I was prompted to enter the password for Credential Storage. The thing is that I have no idea what that password could be, I never set it up. Do you have the same problem?

HELP: Cannot reboot to fastboot/ bootloader.

Aloha.
I cannot reboot to bootloader. I flashed RR rom , and now the phone wont turn on when I try to reboot to fastboot. Recovery mode works fine.
Is there any zip or img files i and flash to fix this problem?

Also I want to change the boot logo to the original.
After flashing the freedom os tje boot logo changed.
Please let me know if amy of you have the original file.

Geekbench 3 Get Updated To Geekbench 4

Unresponsive screen

I recently got a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active but recently it does'nt detect touch. The LCD still works but it doesnt detect touch so it's only usable when I use a USB OTG cable to connect a mouse to it. Is this a software issue or does the screen assembly need to be replaced

[APK Request] Stock MM Messaging App N910W8 6.0.1

Hey there,

Can someone please provide me with the stock Samsung messaging app? I have accidentally deleted it. I use Google Messenger, but it seems that without the Messaging app, a feature it broken. If I go into my call log, long click a number, press the 3 dots, and select "send number", nothing happens. Effectively leaving me without to option to share phone numbers. When I tried to restore Messaging from TB to test if that is what broke this feature, I accidentally deleted it. If anyone knows of an alternative work around, that would be great too!

LG G3 randomly restarting and bootloop

Hello everyone,

Here is the problem I have :
The phone keeps rebooting randomly. Most of the time, it's stuck into a bootloop (LG Life's Good), and sometimes it gets past that. When it does, sometimes it hangs in the CM13 animation, and the bootloop starts again. Sometimes the phone can boot successfully.

Here is what I tried :
I did a factory reset, and I could use my phone for a bit. I recoved the settings. Then, when I install the apps, it starts crashing.
I bought a new battery and it didn't fix the problem.

Could it be a memory problem ? How do I fix this ?

lg g3 no service detected !

Hi everyone
i have an lg g3 d855 EU working just fine for 1 year and a half ,
And lately when i upgrade to Marshmallow and then i stated flashing a different custom roms and they all work fine!
But a week ago I got a strange problem! A sudden msg appear for few second and then phone keep rebooting:
"Mobile network will be unavailable until you restart with a valid sim card"
I've done a lot of research and tried them all but still the same probe:
-put a piece of paper on the top of the sim cad
-replace the sim card
- Factory reset
-flashed android 5 the original kdz file got from official lg firmware using my IMEI
-....
So I decided to get it to a technician!
-so he replaced the sim card reader with a new one! After that the phone went just fine for 4 days and then the problem come back, so I get it back to him, so he replaced the reader with second new one and he told me that the reader is not the problem and is 100% working so when I put the sim card and reboot it ask me for "pin code" but when I after put the pin code, the phone keep searching for signal for few second than it stay no service at all.
the technician sad that there is some file in lg g3 responsible for the service detection and stuff like that only be obtained from another working lg g3 and only solution is that he can get those fil from a working lg g3 and put it into my phone and he told me it will be working again for sure !
So please guys help me I'm stuck :( :( !! Is there anyone know something about these files or their names?? And if he can provide me them I'll be so grateful. :good:

Urgent help needed: Phone reboots continuosly after setup

I am currently experiencing continuous reboot on my Single Sim Z3+ phone on .253 firmware. It used to be ok but about a week ago I started experiencing this problem as soon as I reboot the phone after setting it up from a fresh install with full wipe. It seems to work normal on earlier builds like 28.0.A.8.266 so only happens on 32.1.A.1.185; 32.2.A.0.224 - .253. I repeat, I have done fresh install with Full wipe several times but problem still exists. Urgent help needed.

Rebuilt Action Memo for Note 3

Is there anyone who can fix Action Memo for Note 3 N9005? Everyone complain about missing pin, disappearing memo on minimize using non stock launcher and other things. There are many people who like to mess around with any software, why don't you make a recovery flashable zip with Action Memo without aforementioned flaws? I suppose there is a workaround to make it work properly, even on custom launchers.
This app is most wanted feature on this phone and until Samsung make a Lollipop 5.1 with fixes it would be nice to have it working.

B371 + TWRP 2.8.7.0 + SuperSU 2.74 -> Bootloop on HONOR logo

Hi all,

Currently I'm on B371
I unlocked my bootloader, flash with TWRP 2.8.7.0 and then try to install SuperSU. After reboot my phone, it goes to permament bootloop.

When I'm in TWRP mode, phone memory is visible by my PC. When it's in bootloop and Honor logo is visible I can install HiSuite on my PC from phone and it's also visible by "adb devices".

What can I do to retrieve my phone?

THIS ALSO EXPLAINS WHY some people had working WiFi on the CM12.1/CM13 threads and some didn't. (Also the camera...?)

Possible Causes:

Hardware Failure:
Seems likely. This is all off of memory, but according to @ashyx, the wifi driver uses "pcie_register_driver" to do 2 things:

- Initialize the PCIe device (in this case, the WiFi card)
- Initialize the driver (in this case, the WiFi driver)

According to him, the issue is in initializing the PCIe device, which is failing. This could explain the seemingly random issues people are having.

Another cause:

Different hardware revisions

This one actually seems somewhat likely to me. So, what if Samsung, halfway through production, decided to change their WiFi card model? So, people come from their working stock firmware designed for that hwrev, to a custom ROM, which doesn't work with that wifi device, back to the stock firmware, which could have been pulled from a device with a different hwrev. In theory, this would explain 2 things:

- People having WiFi break on a ROM, and restoring to stock doesn't fix the problem
- In the CM thread, I saw some people having a non-working camera/wifi, and some had a working camera/wifi. If the ROM was compiled for one hwrev, this would explain why.

So, what do you think?
Am I just being crazy here, or is something seriously wrong here?
Please - dump all WiFi issue info here, including logs. I want to get as many logs as I can from different models. You can use Syslog to extract them.

External audio.

I use MX Player (android) in Sony Xperia Z Ultra LTE (C6833). I recently tried playing a serial in MX Player through OTG. The format is MKV and the files are not bilingual.

The video plays fine but is in Spanish language.
I have a Russian language audio in ac3 format separately.

While playing the video, is there any way I can load Russian audio?
A huge amount of serials in Russia can't be downloaded in 1080p with internal Russian audio. The only way in such situations - download video with external audio file.

PS: I played the same videos in my Windows desktop using MPC-BE. It loads Russian audio file automatically. Hope there is an option in android app to do it, at least, manually.

I just rooted my MXPE and am about to try out CM13. Obviously as is with most phones, camera deteriorates when not on stock ROM. How is the camera on cm13? Will I lose 4K video recording? Is there a port for the stock camera for non stock roms?

Phone Reboots when try to screen record. Nothing seems to help??

I have been using my oneplus 3 for a while now with no problems until i tried to record the screen on my device. Anything i used rebooted my phone as soon as the recording would start. Even with adb I didn't have much success as the only error I got back was Encoder failed (err=-38). I haven't the faintest idea of what to do with this info and cant find it anywhere. I was hoping you guys on xda could help me out! Any feedback would be appreciated. I am using RR 5.7.2 for my rom. :D

Need Help with my Rooted Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530AZ

[Q]Tasker Profile using/expanding Samsung Galaxy's Send SOS Messages

Lately, I've been noodling how I can improve Samsung's Send SOS ("Send help" on the S5) feature using Tasker.

Some background: Since the S5 and perhaps earlier, the Galaxy line has a built-in Safety Assistance feature. When switched on it can be triggered by pressing the power button three times quickly. The phone then switches on high accuracy GPS and creates two texts ("SOS!" and "I need help") with this location data. It also records a 5-second audio clip and takes a photo using each the front-facing and rear camera. These five texts are sent to pre-designated contacts (up to four).

Whether hurt in an accident or facing a bad outcome with a criminal or a cop with an attitude, this feature could is useful. Still, I'd like to enhance it:
- a more actionable "help" message, e.g., Google street address approximation or key instruction;
- a longer recording that is shared and backed up to the cloud.

This looks like it should be easy for Tasker to handle. I created a profile triggered by a notification that help messages are being sent. After the initial text, I used the Recordr app, which has a Tasker plugin to record, then stop after two minutes. (I don't reverse this order because I don't wish to delay the instructional message. Who knows what can happen if I wait?)
It saves the recording in a file with a 15-character name based upon date and time, e.g.., DATE_TIME.aac.

A1: Send SMS Number xxxxxxxxxx Message: Avenge me!
A2: Recordr Configuration Record
A3: Wait 2 minutes
A4: Recordr Configuration Stop

My messaging app, Message+ (no judgements, please), automatically sends in Group messaging mode, which allows potential coordination by my "saviors." Sadly, some services may not respond as I'd like. Google Voice and Metro PCS recipients do not use Group mode. Short of having everyone switch messengers -- a very personal and unlikely option -- the only solution I can think of is to warn everyone that some people may not receive or respond in Group mode.

Another issue: Not knowing the file name, I'm unsure how to go about sharing the longer recording. I'm leaning to not having to know the name and using AutoShare or AutoInput to get this done. Also: Any thoughts on what's long enough? A crime is probably less than a minute, an accident needs little time like location info, and a traffic stop can take a while unless things go south quickly.)

My questions:
1. How can I retrieve and send this recording to a contact or point to a link online?
2. How long a recording do you recommend?
3. Any other ideas on what to add?
4. Rather than wait for the Send notification, which waits until after the location has been determined, is there a way to trigger off the initial button presses?

Hi, first of all this is my first thread, i hope you guys can help me. Sorry for bad english

I own a S5 G-900F. The phone was working fine until the screen started sometimes, ramdomly to turn black (with ramdom pixels in colours inside) like 5 seconds, then turns off and the phone restarts. This can happen 1-2 times a day while im browsing or doing anything, or even when i turn the screen on to unlock the phone, it turns on and this happens.

I think its a battery problem, it has 2 years and it might be giving low voltage (i have no idea), or maybe a motherboard problem? some water entered inside the case but im not sure.
Another thing i have to say, the "back" button works, as the menu button, but the "back" button has no light. This is weird and i think its related to the water problem. Both buttons work good, but the back button sometimes doesnt light up. :eek:

New messages mix up after restore

I don't know if this is the issue with the backup app, or the phone / contacts app, or even the carrier, but it never happened before.
I'm using SMS Backup & Restore app, and after factory reset, I've restored my messages.
It was all restored fine, and I believe the time stamps were all ok since messages were in correct order.
However, new messages I received after the restore were just randomly merged into a completely different conversation with a different contact.
Has anyone ever had problems like this, and how to solve it?

Android 7.0 Camera App Issues

When I take a picture in Android 7.0 using the stock camera app, it seem to create the jpg file in DCIM/Camera but it also creates an identically named folder, which is empty, in the same location.

For example, after taking a picture I will have:

/DCIM/Camera/IMG_20160829_182739.jpg
/DCIM/Camera/IMG_20160829_182739/

Does anyone know why or more importantly how to disable this?

can i add a new contact app, the one it comes with is garbage

wow what ugly garbage , the contact app is horrible on this phone never seen such autism before
there no way to tell which heading goes to which phone number, no boxes, no lines,no nothing
is the the label for the phone number the one above or below? it just goes in an infinite loop
and it looks like complete s**t ,can i add another contact app and have it have the same intergratoin or would i lose some features , this thing is an ugly useless POS, i hate it , cant tell how i am supposed to enter and label phone numbers , minimalist garbage material design

Ls980 lcd with d802 motherboard ?

Hi to all
I have 2 lg phone, ls980 and d802, the ls980 with dead motherboard and d802 with bricked lcd .
I change the dead motherboard of the ls980 with the d802.
I start the phone and it work ,but the touch screen not work good.
I do factory reset but same not work,i flash the phone with d802 and same not work.
I read some where in the net that thete is not big difference between ls980 and d802. So im thinking to flash the d802 motherboard with ls980 my be screen touche ll work.
But i find only 32gb .and the d802 motherboard is 16gb.
My question is there firmwar of ls980 with 32 gb.
And my 2 question can i flash it with 16 gb. Or it ll kill the phone , any suggestion plz .

Thermal config (N) *Mod*

I had a thermal config mod I did early in mm and decided to try out on n..

Will this make my phone hot::
Well thing is thermals turn off cores at certain temps so could it yes ,has it during testing no..

Instructions:: Flash in recovery(Profit)

Now question -- Where can I find these settings. (Root Browser of choice) system/etc/thermal config.

Are these kernel and baseband values right for the latest Sony Z2 .291 update?

I currently have the following on the Belgian version (D6503_23.5.A.1.291_1281-8375_R4D.ftf).

Kernel: 3.4.0-perf-gc14c2d5 from Tue June 28 11:11:51 2016
Baseband: 8974-AAAAANPZQ-00061-61

I'm worried I might have done something wrong(due other baseband version found for Verizon) or if these are the right ones.

ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Marshmallow You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.

How to flash:

• Don't do it if you don't know it
• ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes

KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.

PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
